Okay I'm back the computer and arm are working better

Well this is not an excuse really but my computer was out of commission for a while until my Son-In-Law came to my rescue. And my car slipped on some black ice on a freeway entrance to I-15 on my way to work on December 23, luckily for ME, Nat, and Fiel were here visiting for Christmas. After I bounced off two walls of course the air bags went off and broke my other arm this time. I called Nat and asked her to call 911 for me as I have a problem with it on my cell phone. I then called work and let them know I had been in an accident. Then Nat called me back on her cell phone and had the 911 operator on the phone. They said they had found me, I looked around and couldn't see any one but the cars speeding by me none of them with lights on the top. In my defense I was pretty shocky and had not clearly explained to Nat where I was on the entrance which goes from 900 South to past 2100 South. Effidently after I had driven through almost the whole way with out so much as a car pulled off the road (prior to my accident) there had been a few others since they found three accidents before they finally found me. I had asked Nat to send Fiel to collect the things in my car and he drove me to the hospital as my right arm was obviously broken. Below are pictures we took after I left the hospital and the car had been towed.

Doesn't it look awful I guess I was lucky only my right arm was broken.

Above are my beautiful plate and screws after my surgery to repair the damage.
I will post pictures of the kids visit later even though the cast is off the wrist isn't working very well yet and gets tired easily. I am also on face book now. Oh yeah and look below for my trip to FL minus Fay.

I know I have been very neglectful keeping up the blog. If you come back later be sure to go further down because I have a few that I started some time ago and their just not ready for publication. I think when they are posted they will show up on the date I started them.

Yeah, Happy birthday Clee, Mom, Mark, Galen, etc. I have also neglected putting posts up for those I will try to do better next year. There will be pictures of Clee's birthday in my post about my trip to Florida to follow. There will also be pictures of Mom's birthday to follow. So check back if you want to.

I can't make any promises but I will try to do better.

We thought this was the worst of it. We were
WRONG!!!!

Here I am trying to get things out of the water in the
garage, Emme was being a big help watching the boys
while Mom and I dealt with this problem, thank you Emme.

Nat decided at this point she need to get the cars to
higher ground.

Fiel's cousin Alex and his wife Brittney came to our rescue
That's them with Nat after they had been getting as much water
as they could out of the cars which Nat had gotten to higher
ground earlier. The van with a little help from me (not much) and
some nice neighbors. It had died half way up the driveway, needless to
say it was out of commission. One had helped me push the van out of the
driveway and then three or four others showed up to help.
Of course they were all strong young guys in their 20's and
a 57 year old fat woman just couldn't keep up with them so I
told them I couldn't keep up, thanked them and went back to the
house with the kids. They were super nice as they couldn't even
get to their house as the road was closed.

Alex and Brittney came to our rescue again they brought
us pizza, a cooler with ice, a 12 pack of Diet Coke (of which
I was in desperate need), some cookies, and some much needed
towels as Nat had used every towel in the house trying to dry
out the vehicles earlier. (Oh and did I mention the power was
out, BONUS) So there wasn't any cooking, opening the refrigerator,
washing and drying of towels, watching TV, etc.

Nice huh? Luckily the house was much higher
than the garage so no water got into it. I think
we have Alex to thank for that too.

Here I am reading while the kids took a break from
playing games and putting the puzzle together. It was
a very long day of trying to get things out of the water
in the garage and entertaining the kids with no power.
Thankfully the power stayed on for some of the clean up,
poor Emme trying to keep the boys entertained and in
the house was extremely difficult, especially since Clee
could see all that water but couldn't play in it.

This is after we got as much up as we could.

When he got back the next day he, Nat and I cleaned
out the garage. While our little trooper Emme
watched the boys again.

After we cleaned out the garage Fiel worked on the
cars way into the night.

say this part of the trip was the funnest but I'm
glad I was there to help a little and playing with
the kids was fun!

Sorry I forgot to get the camera out of my purse. We (I, Mom (great grandma), Lynn, Pam, and Chuck) went up to Park City and had brunch at the Grub Steak. They had a Mother's Day buffet, we all stuffed our selves. I had Prime Rib, a mushroom cheese omelet, asparagus, salad, a couple of pieces of bacon. Then I did the unforgivable I had a thin slice of decadent chocolate cake (this cake is made with no flour but I'm sure sugar is involved) and a very small creme brule. Needless to say I really haven't been hungry the rest of the day. It was funny no one up at the Grub Steak (Lynn works for the owner so they all know her) anyway no one was surprised that Rich was playing golf and therefore couldn't make brunch.

We then went back to Mom's (great grandma's) Rich met us there, so she could open her presents, and started to watch the Jazz vs the Lakers' basket ball game. Most of us left before the game got over. But Bonus!!! the Jazz beat the Lakers' in Overtime.

I got to talk to Emme and Natalie (another bonus). They got me some chocolate and some really cute green pj's with pink flamingos ( Maybe I'll take a picture of them but not today).

First Autism Walk In Utah WOW What A Day

Well walk day finally arrived (I have been working towards this since last August). Out team grew a lot in the last couple of weeks, as a team we earned $1,490 (posted) plus another $300 or so turned in the day of the Walk. (Its NOT too late to donate). Our walk raised over $300,000, we had 3,500 preregistered walkers and over 5,000 people showed up. I volunteered to give out walk T-Shirts and there was a man with Autism (Aspergers) helping out. He said that a woman had come in where he worked the day before and told him about the walk so he came that morning to volunteer. After we finished the first lap of the walk they asked us to go visit some booths or something before starting the next lap because there were still a lot of people waiting to start the walk, I think we need a bigger place next year. I didn't count all of the booths that were there but there were a lot I'm guessing around a 100. I never did get the whole team together. The Cottonwood football team cheered us on and volunteered. I had a great time I hope everyone else did too. I know all the kids did everytime you walked a few steps there was some sort of treat or something fun for them to do. I went over to Pam and Chuck's house last night to watch the Ark of Truth. It just started to snow as I almost got to their house.

This is Kona one of their dogs he had been out side for a few minutes and didn't want to shake off when he came in to eat. By the time I headed home they had about 4 inches of snow and Chuck went out to clean off my car for the drive home. Luckily it hadn't even stuck the sidewalks or streets by my house as I didn't feel much like shoveling. Chuck had a blast all night looking out the window and giggling and announcing how happy he was about it and trying to get Pam and I to look out the window. Well at least he had fun.

The Bear & I

Yellowstone brought down some baby bears to Sportsman's Warehouse in SLC so I went out and stood in line for a while to get my picture taken with one. Mommy is still in Hibernation this is one of 6 that they had there. They only brought them out one at a time and if you had your picture taken with one you could hold one otherwise you only got to watch others get their picture taken. This little cutie was very tired and squirmy but well worth the wait.

DADDY'S GONNA EAT YOUR FINGERS

I was packing for my business trip and my three year old daughter
was having a wonderful time playing on the bed. At one point she
said,'Daddy, look at this' , and stuck out two of her fingers.

Trying to keep her entertained, I reached out and stuck her tiny
fingers in my mouth and said,
'Daddy's gonna eat your fingers,'
pretending to eat them.

I went back to packing, looked up again and my daughter was standing
on the bed staring at her fingers with a devastated look on her face.

I said, 'What's wrong, honey?'

She replied,
'What happened to my booger?'

My sister Pam and my birthdays are fairly close so we shared a birthday party on Super Bowl Sunday. She made me cut the cake and I forgot to take the picture until after I started cutting (Ooooops). Happy Birthday tomorrow Pam!!!!!

Walk Now For Autism Awareness

Well as most of you know my middle grandchild "Clee" has Autism. We are finally going to have a walk to raise the awareness of Autism here in Utah. Above is the picture that will be on my team's T-Shirts I think he's a beautiful boy of course I'm a touch prejudice. The Kids on Christmas

Here are some pictures of the kids and the gifts I left there when I was there at Thanksgiving.
I got Emme a combination alarm clock, radio and CD player I hope she enjoys it.
I left my old camera there for Emme, I hope she gets some use of it (it has been a little temperamental I hear)
I got Clee a toy that lights up makes noise and just entertains it looks like he likes it.

Christmas

Well I finally got all my Christmas Cards mailed and cooking done.
Here I am in front of my tree (see Emme and Nat I put this up just for you). Later I picked up my mom and went to Pam and Chuck's house.Pam, Mom and I at Pam's House. Mom bought the matching shirts aren't we festive?Chuck & PamRich & LynnMe at Pam and Chuck's House. Mom wouldn't let me take anymore pictures of her so the one of the three of us is it. We had a great time good food and company. I did miss the kids of course.

Well I guess I have neglected my blog long enough so here are a few pictures from my most recent trip back east for Drew's Birthday and Thanksgiving.

Emme and her cousin Jackson on Thanksgiving as you can see the weather was great. I had a great time with the kids, Most everybody played Rock Band most of the day but as you can see we did get some time outside with the kids. And as usual the trip was much to short.

This is the candy I have left after the last of the trick or treaters (this is one of those really big Tupperware bowls). Haven't quite decided what to do with it yet.
This is the crew at the office some of them did a really good job of hiding.
None of the pictures showed my cute purse and matching slippers, so here they are.
You can't tell by the picture but my hair was black (I sprayed it black) the can said it would wash right out if I hadn't colored or permed it. They didn't lie it washed right out. I was an Oriental woman (it's pretty hard to tell).

mom's back

Mom's back in town. She's only been back one day so she's not making any decisions yet but she has to do what she has to do. We'll see what happens. She has been up in Washington since June it's good to see her back. The photo is from last year she says she needs a hair cut. She has an appointment on Tuesday. But she's a sight for sore eyes anyway.

While my great niece and great nephew (yes they are great too.) were visiting their grandmother (my sister) I took them to the Zoo. This is a slide show of some of our visit including the white alligator (yes it is real and alive).

I went to a wonderful movie with my sister on Tuesday it is called Autism the Musical. I laughed, I cried, I was extremely touched. I recommend this movie if you love anyone with Autism or even if you don't. It will be on HBO at some point but is being screened around the country now go to this web site to see if it is playing by you some where.

Natalie has always liked haunted houses and she really liked Nightmare on Thirteenth. They used to have a gargoyle that moved up above the entrance but they have changed it to a headless horseman. So this is for all you ghouls out there (Nat and Emme). Look Nat I added something to my Blog!!!

Since most of my life is back east I thought I would add (with some gentle prodding by my daughter who shall remain nameless for those of you who don't know her) a slide show of my trip back east with Nat, Emme, Clee, and Drew. The first shot is a car in the parking lot at the Holiday Inn we stayed at in New York it reminded me of one of cars from Cars (the Disney movie) can you believe frost in the middle of July. We had to drive about another 100 miles past Palmyra to find a place to stay since we were unaware of the pageant that they were having in Palmyra. The next portion of pictures are when we were in Palmyra first the Sacred Grove and then the Hill Cumorah. The climb up this hill was horrific and I had my doubts about whether I was going to get down without falling on my rear, (I knew Emme wouldn't have any trouble since she had to stop to wait for me a few times on the way up, I figured she would just have to stay out of my way so I wouldn't crush her on the way down). But lo and behold Natalie had found a way to drive up (I really wish I had known about this before I made the climb up (is my age showing?)). One of the pictures the one that looks like green squares are chairs set up for the pageant later that evening. We did not stay as it had already been a long trip and the kids and Nat just wanted to get home (and we did not have tickets since we didn't know it was happening prior to getting there). Then there are a couple of Drewbee in a guitar box, we also went to the dinosaur park (I can't believe I didn't take any other pictures there (other than a little chipmunk that was entertaining Emme and Drew), What was I thinking?), and a squirrel (at Fiel and Natalie's house). The next pictures are from the Mistic Aquarium, The Beluga whales really seem to like the kids they are real showoffs, the two first pictures of Clee and the penguins. Clee was trying to climb in with them the next one is after we wouldn't let him (Clee seems to draw the fish, etc. to him some how) and then we finished off with a visit to a play ground for the kids look closely at Emme's hair on the last picture, Enjoy. (The music is On The Road Again by Canned Heat one of my absolute all time favorites.)

These are my other grandchildren Drew (2) and Emme (6) jumping on the trampoline. Emme starts first grade this fall and maybe Drew will get to go to preschool, I hope so (I wonder if they have a preschool for future rock stars, they should).
